Dr. John Caruso
If you’re imagining a gritty, sweat-soaked gym with serious Rocky vibes—then yep, you’ve got the right picture. That was my world for years as I poured myself into powerlifting and strength sports.
Then everything changed.
Multiple herniated discs brought my training—and my life—to a halt. What followed was a dark season: chronic pain, severe depression, and a dependence on prescription medications and substances just to cope.
Maybe you haven’t lived this exact story, but I know too many people who’ve walked a similar path. I get it. Traditional medicine was failing me.
Here’s where it gets better.
At just 17, I was given two treatment options by the university medical doctor: more prescription drugs or major back surgery. That was it. No conversation, no alternatives. I left feeling frustrated, helpless, and alone.
But deep down, I knew there had to be another way.
That’s when my mom recommended I see our local chiropractor. I’ll admit—I was skeptical. But this doctor had helped my family manage everything from allergies to anxiety, so I went.
That first visit changed everything.
For the first time, I felt truly seen and heard. The chiropractor looked me in the eye and said, “You are capable of healing. We just have to give your body the best opportunity to start that process.”
He was right.
With each adjustment, my body began to heal. Not just physically—but mentally, too. I was transforming from the inside out. That one visit shifted the entire direction of my life.
Today, I’ve traded skull crushers in the gym for craniosacral work at the table—helping patients by gently adjusting the joints of the cranium (yep, the skull). I’ve gone from living in pain and feeling broken, to living a purpose-driven life where I get to offer hope and healing every day through chiropractic care.
